A recent graduate from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Giovanna Carneiro has already worked as a reporter for the newspaper Folha de Pernambuco and for Marco Zero Content, as a freelancer. Additionally, Carneiro was a creator and collaborator on Revista Gruvi, an digital magazine that focuses on music and culture in the eastern Brazilian state of Pernambuco. She was also a researcher in the area of communication and music at the Laboratory for Analysis of Music and Audiovisuals, or LAMA, at UFPE.

Beat: Environmental and social impact of development

This reporter systematically cover socio-environmental issues, from the point of view of the people most impacted by violations of their rights. The content produced can address, for example, the problems caused by mega constructions, such as the Transposition of the São Francisco River, in the semiarid region of the Northeast, or even the health problems arising from the lack of basic sanitation in the peripheral regions of the Metropolitan Region of Recife.
