The Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that combats injustice, holds power to account and speaks for the voiceless. Founded in June 2020, FIJ seeks to uncover the truth by bypassing officialdom and neutralizing propaganda, and making it accessible to the public in a way that eases and influences their everyday decision making.

Position: The Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) is looking for a reporter to cover security from a community perspective, aiming to arm the public with information with which to keep themselves safe, and supporting security agents to effectively discharge their responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a journalist with five to eight years of experience who is passionate about security and conflict, and sees the media as a tool for securing public peace. Candidates outside that bracket who feel strongly about their suitability to the role can apply. The role requires that the candidate has a nose for news, an energy for the field, and possesses excellent writing abilities.
