Position: This position is a research reporting position that focuses on the interdependence of marine and coastal ecosystems with communities who live on the Atlantic and Mexican Caribbean. It is based in Mérida, Yucatán. The candidate for this position should be comfortable using a range of platforms to tell the stories of these ecosystems and communities, such as written, visual, data-based, and on the ground fieldwork and reporting. Some of the topics that will be focused on are the impacts of global warming, Marine Protected Areas, fishing, combating illegal fishing, sustainable fishing production, fish refuges, citizen movements, waste management, marine pollution, impacts of tourism, mangrove ecosystems, reefs, environmental impacts of works, conservation of marine species, among others related to the seas and coasts.
